In the evening on March 13 in Syktyvkar held the official opening ceremony of the World Cup cross-country skiing masters. The Head of the Komi Republic Vyacheslav Gaiser and general secretary of WMA (World Masters Association) Dieter Heckmann opened the most important competition in 2015.

“We are honour to take on the hospitable land of Komi anniversary Masters World Cup cross-country skiing. Doubly pleased that the 35-year history of international competitions, Syktyvkar – is Russia’s second city, where the competition will take place “, – said Vyacheslav Gaiser.

Dieter Heckmann, in turn, added that he hopes for a highest level of organization in sports and cultural area.

The opening ceremony was attended by leading creative and dance groups Syktyvkar.

March 17, the day of rest on MWC 2015. In this day athletes can participate in IX open Republican ski festival of Lampe, Lyzi, hunting and cross-country ski “Lyampiada”. It will take place in the village Bolshelug, Kortkeros District.

Specially for MWC 2015 on the Republican ski center new snowcat “Husky” was acquired. Track will be prepared by 3 such snowcats, Nikolay Gordeev says.

An Italian commentator will work During the MWC 2015 in Syktyvkar from 11 to 20 March. The first deputy head of the center of sports training teams of the Republic of Komi Igor Dumin reported about that.

According to Igor, the Italian commentator has considerable experience in such competitions. The organizers met her first time during their trip to Germany, where she offered to cooperate.

As noted by Igor Dumin, along with Russian, she speaks English and French. She will work as a stadium commentator: make an announcements, inviting athletes at the start, communicate with them.

The World Cup is expected to approximately 1,500 athletes from 30 countries.
